Bash / The details

Media consent, in plain language

Last updated: September 2026

Bash games are built from real photos and real video recordings of real people. That only works if everyone involved knows what they are agreeing to. So here it is, plainly. The full details are in our privacy policy.

What we collect

  • Profile photos of players, added by the player from their phone or by the organizer on their behalf, along with first and last names.
  • Photos of the guest of honor and of the groom, added by the organizer.
  • Video answers recorded by the groom through his private recording link.

What the games do with a photo

  • It is checked automatically for a single clear face and for content that is not allowed. This looks for a face to judge the photo; it does not identify anyone or build a facial template.
  • It is transformed by automated image generation into a portrait of an imagined person of the other gender, the game's running joke. A man's own photo is used as is.
  • That portrait is placed into scenes, short generated video clips, and a group photo with the other players.
  • After a game, each player receives their own short video made from these, and the guest of honor receives the group photo.
  • First names are spoken by a synthetic voice.

How consent works

  • Players agree for themselves when they create their profile on their phone. The checkbox states that the photo will be stored, transformed for the games, shown on the TV and on the phones of the other players, and used for their own video afterwards.
  • Organizers confirm they have each person's permission for exactly that when they add a photo or a profile on someone's behalf. That confirmation, with its time, is recorded on the profile.
  • The groom agrees to storage and party-night playback before he records; the checkbox is part of his recording portal.
  • Every agreement is recorded with a time and the version of this policy in force.

Who sees it

Only your party: the TV during the games, the phones of the players who joined, and each player's own delivered video. Our team can see it through an access-controlled console to run the service. It is never public, never used for marketing without separate written permission from each person shown, and never sold. The companies that process it for us are listed in the privacy policy.

A note on facial data

Some states, including Illinois, Texas and Washington, regulate the processing of facial features. Our photo check detects that a face is present and where it is; we do not keep facial measurements or use them to identify anyone, and the transformed portraits are fictional. Photos and everything made from them are deleted on the schedule below. By adding a photo, or by confirming permission for someone else's, you agree to this processing. [Legal review: confirm this wording and whether a separate written consent is needed for residents of these states.]

How long we keep it, and how to remove it

  • Photos, recordings and generated media are kept for the party's access window (6 months from purchase, plus any extension) and deleted within 30 days after the window ends.
  • An organizer can remove a player at any time from Settings, which deletes that player's photos and generated media, or delete the whole party.
  • Any participant can ask for their media to be removed at any time by emailing support@bash.games. It comes down within 30 days, usually much sooner.
  • A group photo includes several people; removing one person means the photo is rebuilt without them.

Draft for legal review before public launch. Questions in the meantime: support@bash.games.
